Enjoy a Tombstone Platter at Alabama’s Rustic Rattlesnake Saloon

If chain restaurants bore you, a trip to Alabama’s Rattlesnake Saloon is an absolute must. The Rattlesnake Saloon is a rustic restaurant and watering hole in Tuscumbia, Alabama that is located beneath a jutting rockface that sometimes doubles as a natural waterfall.

Built on land that has been owned by the Foster family since 1916, the land where the Rattlesnake Saloon is currently located once served as the family hog pen. When the Fosters decided to build a saloon, they discovered a family of rattlesnakes near the construction site which is the origin of the saloon’s name.

The Rattlesnake Saloon menu features cowboy-inspired food such as burgers, chips and salsa, and a combo platter that features whatever the chef feels like sending out called the Tombstone Platter. Guests can sip on an ice cold Coca-Cola, or a Bud Light. One of the Rattlesnake Saloon’s most popular attractions is viewing a pre-dinner chuckwagon race.
